Band 3 Driver

Job description

​MPA are currently recruiting for a driver to work with our client based in Coleraine. This position is based in an adult centre setting and will have an immediate start once all relevant checks are complete. Working hours will be 08:45 - 16:15 Monday - Friday

Job Duties

· Collect and convey service users to Trust Adult/Day Care facilities.

· Carry out daily routine maintenance of their vehicle and minor repairs (including checking fuel oil, water levels and topping up as required, tyre pressures, vehicle cleaning, changing punctured wheels etc.)

· Convey centre clients to outings inc, community facilities, cinema, leisure and social trips etc.

· Operate tail lifts on vehicles where provided, after training.

· Complete any records in relation to the performance/usage of the vehicle per journey e.g. miles travelled, petrol used, oil replaced, patient/clients carried, loading etc. The information required would vary with the type of vehicle and will be subject to change in the light of development.

· Daily completion and monthly return of vehicle log sheets.

· Secure clients travelling in wheelchairs with the recommended restraint device.

· Any other duties relevant to the post.

· Must maintain Driver CPC qualification.

Essential Criteria

· Applicants should have at least 12 months paid employment experience of supporting people with a disability OR

· 6 months paid employment experience of supporting people with a disability plus NVQ / QCF / RVQ Level 2 in Care or GNVQ? BTEC National certificate or Higher qualification in care or equivalent. By date of appointment the successful candidate must be registered in the NISCC Register of Social Care Workers

· Full UK Driving Licence with Category D full unrestricted entitlement plus, a Driver CPC Qualification.
