Finance Analyst

​MPA Ballymena are currently working alongside NHSCT to recruit a Band 5 Finance Analyst in the Ballymena area

The post-holder will assist in the provision of a fully integrated Financial Management Service, including the design and provision of budgets that reflect the service and available resources, ensuring that effective budgetary control is applied throughout the Trust.

Key Duties/ Responsibilities

Budget Setting and Control

  • Assists with the establishment, development and maintenance of an efficient and effective system of budgetary control.

  • Responsible for the preparation and input of approved changes to the budgetary system.

  • Assist in the provision of financial information and reports to the commissioning body (HSCB), Department of Health (DoH) and other agencies.

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate suite of financial management reports for budget managers.

  • Co-ordinating the flow of information through the department, including actioning of appropriate budgetary/expenditure adjustments.

Financial Planning and Reporting

  • Assist with the provision of regular monthly reports and information regarding budgets and expenditure within explicit standards for timeliness and content.

  • Provision of support to Directorate Support Accountants including summary variance explanations and ad hoc investigations.

  • Liaise/meet with Budget managers on a regular basis to review financial performance and to assist them in the understanding and interpretation of their budgetary position.

  • Ensure that monthly and year-end Financial Management procedures are adhered to, including the monthly reconciliation of the financial budgetary systems.

Qualifications / Experience Require

  • Diploma for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 5) with 2 years relevant* finance experience.

Or

  • Demonstrate 4 years relevant* finance experience.

Hours and Pay

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm

  • £14.53 -Weekly Pay

  • Holiday Fund
