MPA have been retained by a leading children and family services firm to recruit for Occupational Therapists to join their teams in British Columbia.

The client has grown to become a leader in the space. Providing families and children with ASD and other developmental disorders with multidisciplinary care which includes Psych Services, ABA, OT and SLP care.

In this role as an Occupational Therapist, you will develop programs that allow Individuals to participate, to their fullest level, in activities that occupy their daily lives. You will primarily focus upon assessment and treatment for your client-base of children between 2-18 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Responsibilities:

  • Assess client needs and family priorities as part of an interdisciplinary team 

  • Complete assessments using tools such as standardized tests, criterion or curriculum referenced materials, or checklists 

  • Develop and implement a treatment plan for each client, based on assessment results 

  • Develop reports as required 

  • Consult to Behaviour Analysts who supervise Applied Behaviour Analysis Programs for Children with ASD and other needs 

  • Work collaboratively with the family and other community professionals 

  • Maintain knowledge in current evidence-based practices 

  • Collect data and make evidenced-based decisions in treatment 

Requirements:

  • At least 1 years’ experience working with children with ASD

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapist (OT)

  • Experience and familiarity with assessment tools (standardized tests, etc.)

  • Knowledge of current research and literature in the Occupational Therapist (OT) field

  • Member of COTBC or eligible to register

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary range is between $82,000 to $102,000 per year, depending on experience.
