The Roles
Who are we recruiting:
·Band 6 SLT based in Community Adult Team - North Down and Ards area but may have to cover Lisburn and Downpatrick area.
·Band 4 SLTA based in Community Adult Team - North Down and Ards area but may have to cover Lisburn and Downpatrick area.
·Band 4 SLTA based in Ards with potential cover to the Ulster Hospital.
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Pay Rate B6: £18.10
Pay Rate B4£12.86
Duties for Band 6
· Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult clients presenting with communication difficulties
· Assist clients and/or carers to be involved in the individual care plan and in encouraging engagement in the therapeutic process particularly where communication problems exist.
·To liaise with senior Speech & Language Therapists for expert advice on issues relating to caseload.
·To carry out home visits and domiciliary work as required and deemed necessary in accordance with departmental and Trust policies.
Duties for Band 4
·To assist the SLT in the delivery of the SLT Voice & Throat Service for paediatric and adult clients within the team’s caseload
·Day-to-day administrative co-ordination in conjunction with the administrative support team, of the SLT Voice & Throat Service
·Assist in scheduling clinics.

Essential Criteria for B6
·2 years’ experience working as a qualified Speech & Language Therapist.
·Experience working with adult clients
·Experience enabling SLT to work independently with dysphagic adult patients
· HCPC Registration
Essential Criteria for B4
·Practical experience of working with people in a caring capacity
· NVQ 3 equivalent in relevant area Plus 2 years relevant experience ORHNC/D in relevant subject or equivalentPlus 1 year’s relevant experience OR 4 year’s relevant experience
