Job Role: Ward Clerk

MPA are currently recruiting a ward clerk for our public service client based in Dundonald.

Ward Clerks provide administrative and clerical support on a ward setting within the Ulster Hospital. They work as an integral member of a team under the supervision of their immediate line manager.

The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of clerical/administrative tasks to support and assist in the effective and efficient provision of services within their department.

Location – Dundonald

Hours of Work – Monday – Friday 8am-4pm

Salary - £11.67 per hour

Temporary role for 3 months 1st Sept- 30st Nov 24 (2 weeks training before start date)

Your Duties:

The post holder will be required to carry out a range of reception desk duties which include but are not limited to the following: -

• Use of Outlook to send and receive emails

• Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors

• Use of computer systems to maintain and update patient details

• Sorting and distributing post

• Refiling printer and confidential waste bins

• Receiving and making phone calls

• Booking porter to transport patient

• General office duties such as photocopying and scanning documents

• Maintain good housekeeping to keep a clinical tidy desk space

• Filing and maintaining patient notes and charts.

• Receptionist duties for Outpatient clinic which is based on the ward

• Managing and editing schedule for clinic on computer system

• Booking outpatient appointments on system

Essential Criteria:

4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) to include English or equivalent

OR

English GCSE (Grade A-C) or equivalent

Plus

1 year’s paid clerical experience which must include

• The use of Microsoft Office packages

Plus 3 of the following

• Filing

• Telephone duties

• Photocopying

• Data input

• Data extract

• Using Spreadsheets
